This is an original airdry clay sculpture by Jade Melany.
A one off unique creation inspired by visiting the statue of Naga Kanya at the Buddhist Retreat at Samye Ling in Dumfries.
“Nāgakanyā (नागकन्या) refers to “Nāga girls”, according to an ancient Buddhist ritual manual on agriculture from the 5th-century (or earlier), containing various instructions for the Sangha to provide agriculture-related services to laypeople including rain-making, weather control and crop protection. Flowers and incense should be offered to this sculpture”
